DAMit is a script for applying API modifications to your source code. It takes a DAM (Document for API Modification) document and applies each change to every line of code. It supports CVS style conflicts so you can use your favorite merging tool, or if you are already using a VCS you can apply the ... [More] changes and then use the VCS diff features to check the changes. It was brought back to life for consideration for use in the Kohana PHP framework for helping users keep up with Kohana's rapid development cycle. With a DAM provided, API changes in major releases could easily be applied to existing code to simplify the upgrade process. Also, given frequent DAM updates, trunk watchers could easily test their code with the latest API changes and more readily provide the development teams with useful feedback.
