Autonomous Grabbing RobotThis project is to create a robot with articulated arms (3~6 joints), placed on a wheel or legged motion platform, that can automatically searches color- and shape-featured objects and put them into also color- and shape-featured brackets. The vision system would be to use a ... [More] webcam, with 30 f/s, 640*320 or higher. This project may contain several phases: 1. Using Lego MindStorm to build wheel platform, arm. The webcam is statically installed above the playground where objects, brackets and the robot are located, i.e. a global vision system. The objects and brackets are also statically put. 2. Objects and brackets may slowly in motion. The speed of motion will be slow enough for the global webcam to do the dection algorithm. 3. ... For details, see the project document. [Less]

This project aim to create a simple domain specific language to control your Lego Mindstorm (and potentially other kind) robots from a PC. This project uses the Fantom API from Java (using JNA) to communicate with the robot. The DSL will be written using JRuby.

LegoNXTRemoteThis is a library for manipulating LEGO Mindstorms NXT bricks. It includes a standalone Cocoa Framework and a sample Cocoa Remote application written in Objective-C. It is multi-platform and is not dependent on LEGO libraries. There are two products distributed in this project: ... [More] LegoNXT.frameworkThis is a framework providing the ability to manipulate a LEGO Mindstorms NXT brick over Bluetooth. This framework exposes both low-level manipulations as well as a high-level interface for sensor polling. This framework does not rely on the the LEGO fantomSDK or any other external libraries, making it easy to build and modify. LegoNXTRemoteThis is a sample application which makes use of the above framework to manipulate most functions of the LEGO Mindstorms NXT brick over Bluetooth. It makes use of the native Bluetooth libraries for simple device discovery. [Less]

This project is about building a robot out of simple and cheap parts. It's about giving your netbook wheels, about creating a versatile real world platform to play with computervision and ai. It aims to be a great project you can do together with kids to teach them programming basics on a real ... [More] thing instead of a lame simulated turtle, or with fellow hackers while enjoying a beer and just having fun together. It will give you the power to enable your friends to log into your living room. They can drive around, see through the cam of the robot, talk and listen using the soundsystem, while sitting hundred of miles away on their couch. Feel free to contact me at NxtJohnny5@removethis.gmail.com if you have questions, want to report bugs/improvements or want to help with this project! Roadmap: Improve stability by tweaking the four magical parameters of the balancer. Faster tracking using a simple model of ball displacement. Code a kick-and-follow-ball behaviour. cheers :-) Loic Royer [Less]
