OverviewQtVomp is a Qt based client for the VDR Vomp server. It uses the same server module, but is completely rewriten on the client side. News25/September/2008I'm very close to the alpha-release now. Open: Some visual stuff Cleanup of the code ... [More] Test of installation Finalize README, INSTALL, etc. files Package the whole program code 25/August/2008It is currently in early development and not considered even a pre-alpha. Current SVN code already runs stable live-tv, recordings and plays music. You can watch TV, switch channels and go fullscreen mode and back. Still some work is to be done for getting to alpha state, but all the fundamental issues are solved. So now only the "easy" part is left, which means GUI and all the little things which makes the client a full client. Planned for alpha 1: OSD EPG summary and program info Planned after alpha 1: EPG form Setting / deleting timers Move/delete recordings fancy design, beautiness, etc. The experimental phase is over and I'm heading for the first alpha release. Please feel free to download and test it. It never crashed my system so far at all - so feedback is welcome. Sadly, beside of the xine-backend on Linux, none of the others gave any result so far. For the alpha, I will therefore concentrate on xine-BE and hope to get the others sooner or later solved/tested/supported. One good news: For the next Phonon release, the Xine backend will only depend on Qt. So no kdelibs/base/support dependencies anymore. Not that I really care (I'm developing in KDE 4.1), but some users may do. Sony® Reader provides a new way to experience reading. More details on the reader device from sony website: 'The Sony® Reader’s display uses e Ink® - a significant improvement over CRT and LCD technology. Instead of rows of glowing cells, e ... [More] Ink® microcapsules actually appear as either black or white depending on a positive or negative charge determined by the content. The result is a reading experience that’s similar to paper - high contrast, high resolution, viewable in direct sunlight and at a nearly 180-degree angle, and requiring no power to maintain the image. In other words, it's a screen that, like you, is well read.' Unfortunately no support is provided for the device on Linux and Mac OS X. This library is an effort to provide FUSE-based filesystem which can mount prs500's on Linux, MacOS and, possibly, other OSes using Kovid Goyal's libprs500 as a starting point. The device supports PDF, RTF, TXT and proprietary Sony® Ebook Format (BBeB). Currently the project is ON HOLD. There is some libusb code in there that might be useful, and that's why I'm not deleting it for now. [Less]
