25/August/2008It is currently in early development and not considered even a pre-alpha.
Current SVN code already runs stable live-tv, recordings and plays music. You can watch TV, switch channels and go fullscreen mode and back.
Still some work is to be done for getting to alpha state, but all the fundamental issues are solved. So now only the "easy" part is left, which means GUI and all the little things which makes the client a full client.
Planned for alpha 1: OSD EPG summary and program info
Planned after alpha 1: EPG form Setting / deleting timers Move/delete recordings fancy design, beautiness, etc.
The experimental phase is over and I'm heading for the first alpha release. Please feel free to download and test it. It never crashed my system so far at all - so feedback is welcome.
Sadly, beside of the xine-backend on Linux, none of the others gave any result so far. For the alpha, I will therefore concentrate on xine-BE and hope to get the others sooner or later solved/tested/supported.
One good news: For the next Phonon release, the Xine backend will only depend on Qt. So no kdelibs/base/support dependencies anymore. Not that I really care (I'm developing in KDE 4.1), but some users may do.
