Apathy has been in off-and-off development since 1997. The 800-series releases of Apathy are essentially feature complete. The system is fairly straightforward: It is made up of a number of XHTML documents within the Doc folder. The main XHTML document is Apathy.xhtml which contains the core rules ... [More] and "references" and "summaries" (links) to the raw-data contained in the (other) XHTML files within that directory. An exact specification of the raw-data formats is forthcoming, but simply looking at them should give a fairly good idea. The Tools directory contains several python scripts for managing the data. Most importantly is the "build_doc.py" script which can convert the contents of the Doc directory either into a webpage or into a LaTeX2e document. Making the game requires pdflatex and (at least) python2.5, but not more than the 2.X-series of python (the scripts are incompatible with python3). To make the game simply call "make" in the root directory. If you want to learn more about Apathy, download and read the document, itself. [Less]

First and ForemostIf you'd like to contribute code to this project, please send email to info@gnudental.org and include the word, 'GNUdental' somewhere in the subject. Also include your GMail username which is a prerequisite to being a member of this development project while it is ... [More] hosted by Google (though not a requirement for joining our community and contributing in other ways than through writing code). Also, feel free to join the GNUdental-dev mailing list at http://lists.gnudental.org/mailman/listinfo/gnudental-dev Feel free to ignore the big fork language below. It's here strictly to annoy the man who had the audacity to '...insist that we should not be talking about 'GNUDental' as a separate project. We should be talking about OpenDental (sic) and in addition to that an effort to package it for Linux.' NOT !! I'll say nothing more about him publicly, but I consider this man to be (currently) ethically bankrupt (if technically perhaps a genius). FORKGNUdentalTM is a FORK of Jordan Sparks' Windows®-only Open Dental application. The primary goal of GNUdentalTM is to support other operating systems aside from the Microsoft® Windows® family of commercial operating systems that Open Dental has run on exclusively for several years. FORKCross-platform support in Open Dental has long (3+ years) been promised by the author of that application, but those promises were shown to be empty until the announcement of GNUdentalTM. FORKThe GNUdentalTM project members have wearied of waiting any longer. FORKLong live free software that is truly free! [Less]

Simple Software ManagerSSM v8.0 is now available. See What Is New in SSM 8.0. SSM is a package management system of particular interest to: users who build software but want a way to manage what they have built in their home directories--without root access, administrators who build software for ... [More] multiple platforms but do not want to tie themselves to a single native package manager (e.g., RPM), developers who may want to make multiple versions of their software to users but without the often burdensome task of package management, software library maintainers who want to be able to maintain collections of software, each tailored to a specific user or group. Among other things, SSM supports: multiple platforms - most UNIX and Linux operating systems capable of running Python 2.3 and greater, multiple package versions - multiple versions of a package may be made available to users, where each user can tailor which packages he wants immediate access to, multiple collections of packages - one or more (related in some way) packages may be installed together and selectable/accessible on demand, multiple administrators - each collection (called an SSM domain) is maintained/administrated by a single user without the need for special privileges. Comments/questions/problems: ssmcmc (at) gmail (dot) com This software was developed at, and made available courtesy of, the Supercomputing, Storage, and Systems branch of Environment Canada. [Less]
