Project to review the web2py manual Check what chapter you have been assigned here Check what chapter you have confirmed here General Book CritiqueAny general critique unrelated to any specific ... [More] chapter? Voice them here InstructionsComment here 1. Get the book: If you are familiar with Latex, email Scott and he will send you the latex file, otherwise, use the PDF provided by Massimo or put your notes in a text file. NOTE: LaTeX files will be distributed one chapter at a time. You cannot have 2 chapters sent to you to work on at the same time. You must work on one chapter at a time. Once you complete the chapter and return your notes, you can ask for the next chapter. 2. Check your assigned chapter or select additional/different chapters (please don't select chapters with more than 2 people working on them. See ChapterAssignments wiki page. You can also check on google-code under your profile (duties) where you can also see what you have confirmed and completed. The chapter you select will be added there too, once you confirm. 3. Send confirmation: send Scott an email (CC Massimo & Roman) confirming the chapter you are working on, and edit the Wiki (it should work now). 4. Edit your assigned chapter per the Chapter Assignments wiki page. Your notes should go into either the LaTeX, a PDF, or a text file (see #1 above). In the chapter that you edit, make sure to test the code and comment on if it works or not (either way say if it does or doesn't). 5. Submit your changes: for every chapter you have edited, send Scott (CC Massimo & Roman) an email with the Latex or annotated pdf or text file containing the changes for that chapter--use the following email subject line: "web2py book - chapter X corrections". Why not use source control?? The reason we are not using a repository is that we are trying to keep this as simple as possible this time around. 6. Scott incorporates them into the latex; and, 7. Scott makes a separate spreadsheet so that changes can easily be viewed, If you would like to get access to view this spreadsheet, let Scott know your Gmail/Google Account's username. Please do not send separate changes/fixes in separate emails QUESTIONS/FEEDBACK?? Please email me (Roman) any questions you have and FEEDBACK on how to make this better. I would love to make things work better for you than they do currently! But I cannot do that without your feedback. - I am looking at the issues tracker to assign tasks for the future. [Less]
