The "Virtual Machine Manager" application (virt-manager for short package name) is a desktop user interface for managing virtual machines. It presents a summary view of running domains and their live performance & resource utilization statistics. A detailed view presents graphs showing ... [More] performance & utilization over time. Ultimately it will allow creation of new domains, and configuration & adjustment of a domain's resource allocation & virtual hardware. Finally an embedded VNC client viewer presents a full graphical console to the guest domain. [Less]

Enomalism is an open source web-based virtual infrastructure platform. Designed to answer the complexity of managing globally disperse virtual server environments. Enomalism helps to automate the transition to a virtualized environment by reducing an IT organizations overall workload. The easy to ... [More] use dashboard can help with issues including deployment planning, load balancing, automatic VM migration, configuration management, and capacity diagnosis. Enomalism virtual infrastructure is a dynamic mapping of physical resources to business needs. While a virtual machine represents the physical resources of a single computer, a virtual infrastructure represents the physical resources of the entire IT environment (Data Center). [Less]

openQRM is an open source systems management platform that automates both the virtual and physical assets with enterprise data centers. Why should I care? openQRM significantly minimizes downtime for IT infrastructure and business applications, reduces annual management costs for complex data ... Nexgent is a nagios like daemon that runs on paravirtualized Xen guests. Vital information such as loads, iowait, memory usage and disk usage are exported to the privileged domain via Xenbus. The privileged domain can then establish inotify like watches on guest values, enabling the privileged ... [More] domain to take action on events (such as loads getting too high, memory being exhausted or a disk filling up). This program is not yet release quality, but soon will be. [Less]

XenAccess LibraryOverviewWhen running multiple domains (or virtual machines) using the Xen hypervisor, this library will allow a privileged domain to view the runtime state of another domain. This technique is known as virtual machine introspection. The current software focuses on memory access, but ... [More] also provides proof-of-concept code for disk monitoring. News5 Jan 2009: XenAccess version 0.5 is now available! This release includes greatly improved support for Windows domains, support for newer versions of Xen, lots of bug fixes, support for viewing raw memory files, a new tools directory with adapters for Python and Volatility, updated documentation, and much more. You can download this release using the link on the right side of this page. 13 Aug 2008: Help wanted! The XenAccess project is looking for motivated developers interested in helping to implement new features and improve compatibility across various Xen versions. Knowledge in C is critical, and experience with Xen and open source projects would be useful too. Together, we can make XenAccess a true open source alternative to VMsafe! In you're interested, contact Bryan Payne. 17 Apr 2008: The project has moved to Google, instead of SourceForge. Over the course of the next few days, we will be completing the migration including moving the mailing list to Google Groups. Hopefully things didn't break too much in the move, but let us know if you find a problem. Xen CompatibilityThe XenAccess code base requires knowledge of address translations (e.g., between physical and machine addresses) in order to work properly. Occasionally, Xen makes changes to how these translations are done or to other details that we rely on. To see if XenAccess is known to work with a particular version of Xen, refer to CompatibleXenVersions, a user maintained wiki page. Future DirectionsThe current version of XenAccess provides for memory access between two Linux virtual machines. This is only the first step! Below is a listing (in no particular order) of the features and capabilities that will find their way into XenAccess in the future. If you're a developer and would like to help with this project, this list is a great starting point.
