openchronos-ng is a fork and major rework of openchronos. Compared to openchronos it has the following features: * virtual screens * system message bus for system/module communication. * hardware RTC timekeeping (no more clock inaccuracy). * rework of timer and ports drivers. * ... [More] implementation of a module system (drop in applications). * rework of the display routines. * rework of the menu system. The firmware code is also conceptually simpler and smaller which leaves room for more modules (applications). [Less]

QP

Compare

QP is a family of lightweight, open-source, state machine frameworks for embedded systems. The frameworks enable developing event-driven applications consisting of concurrently executing UML state machines (UML statecharts). QP frameworks have been primarily designed for manual coding in C or C++ ... [More] , but are also an excellent target for automatic code generation (see the QM project here on Ohloh). The QP frameworks are described in detail in the book "Practical UML Statecharts in C/C++, Second Edition" by Miro Samek. See also http://sourceforge.net/projects/qpc [Less]

The openMSP430 is a synthesizable 16bit microcontroller core written in Verilog. It is compatible with Texas Instruments' MSP430 microcontroller family and can execute the code generated by an MSP430 toolchain in a cycle accurate way. The core comes with some peripherals (GPIO, TimerA ... [More] , generic templates) and a Serial Debug Interface for in-system software development. [Less]

The toolchain and library allow msp430 based sensor nodes to update firmware remotely while running. The mechanism takes the sensor nodes based on the msp430 microcontroller running the SmartOS operating system, but can easily be adopted to support other platforms.

controls-sos is focussed on providing the following: Scripts and instructions to create an i686 based virtual machine (VM) which provides necessary tools for simulating and deploying wireless networked embedded control systems. The simulation tools will be primarily based in python, in particular ... [More] they will leverage advanced scientific libraries such as Numpy, Scipy, and Matplotlib. Initial embedded support for mote class devices will be geared for the moteiv tmote, however, since moteiv no longer exists (ie. Sentilla) we may have to find/create a msp430 platform based alternative. The embedded software will be a branch of sos-2.0.1, modified to address concerns specifically related to wireless control systems. High level command and control tools will initially run on the VM. We are planning to develop some level of embedded python support on a low power/ low cost embedded arm based processors. [Less]
