The mission of the Arquillian project is to provide a simple test harness that developers can use to produce a broad range of integration tests for their Java applications (most likely enterprise applications). A test case may be executed within the container, deployed alongside the code under test ... [More] , or by coordinating with the container, acting as a client to the deployed code. To avoid introducing unnecessary complexity into the developer's build environment, Arquillian integrates transparently with familiar testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit 4, TestNG 5), allowing tests to be launched using existing IDE, Ant and Maven test plugins without any add-ons. This project is part of the Google Summer of Code 2009 program. The assigned student is Marcelo de Oliveira Dias. AbstractThe idea is to embed OpenEJB container in Jetty Web Server in order to provide supports to deploy and run EJB modules using J2EE Preview Adapter, since J2EE Preview Adapter ... [More] uses the Jetty to deploy and run web applications. Project SummaryOne of the main principles, of using and of extending, the Eclipse's sub-project called Web Tools Platform (WTP) is to "Reduce Development Expense"1. A concern that contributes to increase projects expense is the effort expended configuring the development and testing environment. To decrease this effort J2EE Preview Adapter, which is shipped with WTP, makes possible web development "out of the box". To provide that J2EE Preview Adapter utilizes Jetty server. Today, is possible, using J2EE Preview Adapter, to deploy and run WEB an EAR modules. And, it would be nice if the Adapter could support EJB module too. There is a suitable embeddable EJB container - OpenEJB2. So, what we are proposing here is to embed OpenEJB into the Jetty server in order to support EJB development "out of the box" using WTP with J2EE Preview Adapter.
