pkgsrc: The NetBSD Packages Collection

The NetBSD Packages Collection (pkgsrc) is a framework for building third-party software on NetBSD and other Unix-like systems, currently containing over 6400 packages. It is used to enable freely available software to be configured and built easily on supported platforms.

Gentoo Prefix

On systems other than Gentoo Linux, this usually results in problems, due to conflicts of software packages , unless the OS is adapted like Gentoo/FreeBSD. Instead, Gentoo Prefix installs within an offset, known as a prefix, allowing users to install Gentoo in another location in the filesystem hierarchy, hence avoiding conflicts.
