I’ve created a rough perl pidgin plugin, rss feeding status upload page in php and Pidgin feed option in Lifestream which allows one to display their Pidgin status (theoretically any protocol the application supports) and other Pidgin hooks on Lifestream. You can see an example of this on my ... [More] Lifestream (http://www.jimhribar.com/wp/?page_id=316). I chose to to display just one icon for all of pidgin, but it is possible to display a different feed for each of your network protocols and accounts. It’s only 2-3 days old at this point so I’ve got some more work to do on this, but would like to know if anyone is interested in the code and/or has any suggestions for ideas? As far as the pidgin plugin goes this has many potential uses beyond lifestream itself, but for now this enough to satisfy me. [Less]

Indic Transliterater is a plugin for Pidgin.im (previously Gaim) and offers an option for converting Roman characters to the Tamil characters. This lets you type Tamil words phonetically in English script and still have them appear in their correct alphabet. Note that this is not the same as ... [More] translation -- it is the sound of the words that are converted from one alphabet to the other, not their meaning. The code is being developed using C and Gtk2. [Less]
