redditriver.com (http://redditriver.com) is a mobile version of the popular social news site reddit.com. It was done entirely in Python programming language. There are two parts to the project: 1) the web part which uses web.py web framework and 2) background software part - and a bunch of ... [More] programs which monitor the front page and subreddits for changes, keep database up to date, and find mobile versions of stories posted. What I mean by mobile version finder is easily understood by an example - a link to youtube.com would get rewritten to mobile version of youtube - m.youtube.com, or a link to a page with 'print this page' link, would get rewritten to that url. I wrote a detailed post "designing redditriver.com website http://www.catonmat.net/blog/designing-redditriver-dot-com-website" on my blog. Read it to understand what each program does. [Less]
