This is a little tool that updates your most recent iTunes Podcasts to a BlackBerry Curve or Pearl. The downloads are a stand-alone Mac OS X app (.zip) and the Python source, which works well on ... [More] Windows provided you download the Python software from http://python.org. On both platforms no configuration is necessary, and the program will create a podcast folder on your BB if none exists. By default, the size of the BlackBerry podcast folder is 1 gig. BlackBerry Podcast Updater finds the most recent gig worth of podcasts and adds them to the BB media folder, deleting the oldest downloads that no longer fit (from the BlackBerry only.) To change the size parameter of your podcast folder, edit the first line of bbpupdater2.py. It works well with both iTunes and the media capability of the BlackBerry; the artist and album information is a good way to navigate what is on the device. Also by default, video podcasts are excluded, given slow copy speed and no support of common iTunes formats. To change that or to exclude other file types, add them to the ExcludedFileTypes list. To enable mass storage support on the BlackBerry, enter Options > Media Card > Mass Storage Mode Support = Yes. The source is free, as is the app, let me know of any bugs or suggestions. Many thanks to Dirceu Veiga at http://fasticon.com for the lovely free icons. Feel free to contact "owner's name" at gmail.com for any reason -- support, bugs, suggestions, feature requests, etc. [Less]
