When I first started with phpBB I needed a RSS feed for a forum and since phpBB 3 had just been released there wasn’t much available. So I looked at and tried Beta Advanced RSS Feed and found it had problems. Over the last six months I’ve solved those problems and taken it to a completely ... [More] different level. I knew what I wanted and I didn’t try any other mods, I just kept on plugging away at mine. I wanted a feed which looks similar to those you get from blogs and I hate looking all over the place for the RSS links, sometimes they’re buried a page or two down. A lot of the time I spent was working on the interface with phpBB. I also tuned the code to make it quite fast and it is completely stable. Full credit should go to joeroberts for his original concept and the preliminary sql engine for the main feeds. Much of mod is actually based on phpBB’s own search.php and it’s current with phpBB 3.0.4 files. I invested a lot of time making the mod as user friendly as possible. All a user needs to do to subscribe to a RSS feed (and there are many types) is click an easily found link. Board feeds, Category feeds, Forum feeds, Topic feeds, User feeds and Search feeds which you can define. It’s very well tested and every type of feed fully validates. Subscriptions to private forums also work provided one is logged in and subscribing from the same platform.
