This is an Actionscript 3.0 API to access all the available Last.fm web services. This should hopefully save some people time from doing all the grunt work of parsing feeds and sorting through all that lovely data that Last.fm provides. It is currently a work in progress so not all the services are ... [More] currently available. The packages are divided similar to the audioscrobbler services page: http://www.audioscrobbler.net/data/webservices/ (UserData, ArtistData, etc). Documentation is also an important goal of this project so keep an eye on the ever-growing wiki. These packages can be used in Adobe Flex, AIR, or Flash applications. Update 09-15-2007: Completed wiki for all User Data services. Also reworked some code / events in the Session class and update it's wiki page. Update 09-12-2007: Added all services for retrieving user information from the Last.fm services. These include: Profile Information Top Artists Top Albums Top Tracks Top Tags Top Tags for Artist Top Tags for Album Top Tags for Track Friends List Neighbours Recent Tracks Recent Banned Tracks Recent Loved Tracks Recent Journals Weekly Chart List Weekly Artists Chart Weekly Albums Chart Weekly Tracks Chart Manual Recommendations System Recommendations User Events / Friends' Events / System Event Recommendations Taste-O-Meter Also added was a scrobbling class using the latest 1.2 submission protocol. Firefox addon that allows you to scrobble tracks listened on MySpace to your Last.fm profile. Version 0.3After installing MyScrobbler a new icon will appear in the statusbar of Firefox Right-clicking the icon brings up a new window where your Last.fm Login details should be inserted. When the ... [More] login could be performed successfully the statusbar icon turns green (as shown above), if not it turns red. If that is the case you should first check your login details again and then retry to login. Another reason can be that the Last.fm service is currently not available. Left-clicking the icon enables(green)/disables(gray) the addon. You will also see a list where your played tracks will be displayed. The first column indicates the state of the track. Gray: Initial track state (Note: The icon stays gray, if a track hasn't been played for at least 30 seconds) Yellow: Track is ready to be scrobbled (this will happen after the track has been played for 30 seconds) Green: Track has been scrobbled Red: An error occured / Track not scrobbled MusicBrainz checkboxYou will also find a checkbox in the lower right corner of the preferences window where you can enable/disable MusicBrainz support. That means that, if enabled, MusicBrainz is searched for the current playing artist and the first result is taken as the artists' name. I've implemented this to filter the artists' names because they often have "(new song up!)" or "(new album out now!)" etc. appended. Please note that this is only experimental and might not work always as intended as the result depends on whether MusicBrainz can find the proper artist or not. Also only the artist name will be searched for at the moment. You can always switch between the different artist names of the current playing track as long as it is not scrobbled. General behaviourThis addon will recognize when a track is started within the MySpace Player. Unfortunately pause, fast-forward etc. cannot be detected (afaik). So, if a track has started playing, it will be added at the top of the list. The state indicator bubble will be gray at this time. After 30 seconds the bubble will change its color to yellow. This means that the track is ready to be scrobbled. (30 seconds, because of the Last.fm rule that tracks shorter than 30 seconds mustn't be scrobbled). If the track is aborted after that (e.g. when starting a new track or closing the tab) it will be scrobbled automatically. If the track isn't aborted it will be scrobbled after half of the track was played. If no length information is available the track will be scrobbled after 4 minutes (so the length will be 8 minutes in the list). This goes back to another Last.fm rule: "The track must have been played for a duration of at least 240 seconds or half the track's total length, whichever comes first..." If the track was scrobbled successfully the bubble icon turns green. If there were some errors during that process the icon turns red and the error message will be posted to the Firefox Error Console (Tools->Error Console). You can try to re-scrobble a track that caused an error by right-clicking it. [Less]
