Platinum Arts Sandbox Free 3D Game Maker is an open source game design program for kids and adults. The focus is to make the process of creating games and worlds easy enough for kids but powerful enough to create full game projects. Sandbox is already being used in many schools and colleges ... [More] throughout the world. See it in action! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g44Ww2bg2_E With all the goodies of the cube 2 engine, WYSIWYG map editing, high efficiency rates, inexpensive algorithms for beautiful effects, and the octree world structure. The project itself is intended more as a base for further expansion, as of this writing, sandbox ships both incomplete (but alas, functional) FPS (first person shooter) and SSP (side scrolling platformer) modules for users to play with, and build upon [Less]

The Ninja Story engine gets its name from the game it was originally designed for - Ninja Story. The original developer has halted work on the engine, but there are hopes it will still be useful to someone. The engine is for creating a side-scroller multiplayer RPG. The original design was intended to create something similar to Maple Story.

Following the downfall of Lunar Lander as an interesting but shallow game, this is my humble attempt at reviving a decrepit genre that really should lay dead. Ok, you just try to fight gravity and fuel loss while enemies pound your ship with explosions. Dynamic damage modeling means that parts ... [More] break in a realistic way. -simple mouse only controls -intense gore and exploding biological entities -special xray mode reveals stunning stick-figure skeletons! -last generation 2d sidescroller! -flashy technicolor graphics! -stunning physics based on molecular dynamics! -deformable objects that bend and tear on impact! -ability to tear up terrain and ships! -overwhelming number of enemies, Monty style. ok, if you got this far you know its all a lie. but thats what i'll be working on to make it true. A simple game, for now based in OCaml, that aims to be a pretty sidescroller. It will be somewhat of a cross between Super Mario World and Super Metroid, probably leaning towards SMW. OCaml is used simply because I would like to play with it more. I'm using the lablGL library since it is ... [More] prettier. It is tied to a very old version of OpenGL, however(1.1). Should speed become a problem I will switch to a faster impl, or interface/port to C/C++ code. The goal of the game is to be a tribute to Fear and Loathing in Los Vegas. That is it 's world will hopefully have a very trippy drug induced feel. I would like the world and enemies to change based on the drugs injested, however that is a long way off. [Less]
