ScreenshotsMain Page Preferences Pane open, with tivo info, and formats dropdown Support / FAQThere is a main help page. Please read it and the FAQ if you're having problems. If nothing answers your question, either post a bug report under 'issues' above, or post to the TiVo Community forum. historyThis program is a continuation of the tivodecode manager program by David Benesch. The old program was unsupported and had issues under Leopard and with Tivo3's. However, this is not a full-time supported program. It has many bugs, and may not do what you want. Use at your own risk. LinksUnderlying ToolsAs mentioned, iTiVo is simply a pretty front-end for a lot of tools written by other people. Those tools (and relevant source code) are: tivodecode is used to 'decrypt' shows downloaded from the tivo. mencoder (part of the MPlayer package) is used to convert the shows to smaller files. etv-comskip is the mac port of the comskip project. Used to figure out where the commercials are in the program. HandBrake provides an alternative encoder with its own ups and downs. t2sami is used to generate subtitles from closed caption info. Other Useful ToolspyTivoX is for doing the reverse of iTiVo (uploading or streaming any media file from your computer to your TiVo). MetaX will let you add information fields and tags (metadata) to the files you download with iTiVo. You can add movie posters, additional useful info from imdb, or whatever. Tivo Tools Roundup maintains a long list of other tivo tools you may want to check out for your mac, including alternatives to iTiVo. TivoDecodeManager was the program from which iTiVo was derived. It should run without issues on Tiger. If you want to view stuff you downloaded using 'decrypt' as the format, you can try VLC, MPlayer OSX Extended (quicktime-like replacements) or Plex (a FrontRow replacement). [Less]

This is my first attempt at creating a Dashboard widget and will eventually control your HD and series 3 TiVo. This will be heavily based on Tivo Remote, and iphone application. I am VERY new to managing and creating open source applications. I have been using open source as much as possible ... [More] but have never contributed, so here is my attempt. From my understanding the BSD License regulations are very relaxed and that is my goal. I would like for anyone to be able to take and improve upon this project. If someone that knows more about licensing would like to share some some info on what would be the best choice, please feel free to comment. [Less]

This is a fork off of the vstream library from the tivo-mplayer project. It has been stripped down to just the client code, and includes an example client application. If you have vserver installed on your Tivo (which most tivo hackers do), then you can use this simple client to stream .ty files ... [More] from it. MPlayer will also include support for this library soon. This library can also be used by MPlayer/MEncoder to watch/re-encode tivo streams live over a network. This library was originally maintained by http://armory.nicewarrior.org, but the source and resources from this site have since disappeared, and my attempts to contact the site's administrators have failed. Therefore, I am forking the code here beginning with their last release. [Less]

TyStreamer is now ALBATROSS! Albatross is a proxy server which pulls programs from your TiVo and re-streams them to the client at a lower bit-rate so that it can be viewed in real-time over bandwidth-challenged network connections, such as 802.11b or the internet. It does this by using VideoLAN ... [More] Client and a patched version of vstream-client to re-encode the video in real-time and stream it to the client as Flash Video. TyStreamer has been tested on Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger), but assumed to work on Linux, Windows or any platform supported by PHP and VLC. [Less]

MOTDtivotool is no longer being actively worked on. The project could use a new maintainer if any perl hackers out there are interested. Contact john at johnsolo.net if you are interested. Thank you to everyone who has been using this tool for years!

.NET libraries for developing and hosting HME applications written in C#. It uses Mono.ZeroConf for local network applications. This in turn depends on bonjour from apple. Visual Studio 2008 projects are included in the source. The HME library was built based on Tivo documentation for the ... [More] protocol. This library is not provided by or supported by Tivo. Please contact me if you have any questions or feedback. Josh Cooley - jbtivo@tuxinthebox.net News/UpdatesSeptember 13, 2009 I've released a bug fix for the Tivo.Hmo library that allows content to be downloaded from a tivo. Thanks to the mono team I was able to use some of their code to work around an issue with the cookies sent by a tivo. August 31, 2009 This has been waiting in SVN for a while. It incorporates all the changes mentioned below. February 11, 2009 I've been working on the 2.0 release. It is almost complete and now in checked in to the source tree. The main feature for this release is a replacement of the host http services. Mp3s and streaming videos have a better web server to provide these files thanks to the Mono project. I've incorporated the web server portions into the Tivo.Hme.Host.dll but have added a dependency on Mono.Security. This new dependency will be part of the package when a new release is made. In addition to source changes, you may notice three new links in the featured wiki pages on the right. These are entries into the api docs for Tivo.Hme.dll. The documentation is a little thin right now, but will be updated as soon as I go through and add the necessary XML comments. October 21, 2008 The new release is now out. It's a minor update for the HME library. This release includes a refresh of some samples as well as some hosting changes. I provide an http service available to HME apps. It's just a prototype and will definitely change in later releases. The disk usage app does have the promised bug fix as well as the new HMO sdk. There's no independent download of that yet. I'm still trying to figure out what else is necessary for a useful HMO sdk. October 14, 2008 I've been working on a sample for the video streaming as well as support and sample for the transport command. I should have a release of the hme sdk, samples, and disk usage app soon. The disk usage application has an overhauled hmo library that should fix a reported bug as well as be the beginning of an independently usable hmo library. It's currently very limited, but is closer to what I want than the previous version. August 4, 2008 An updated version of the library has been released that supports streaming video. At the same time, I've released a preview of the hosting service for hme applications. It runs as a windows service and requires manual configuration currently. Please check the readme in the HmeApplicationServer directory for very basic installation instructions. As stated earlier, I plan on having a configuration tool to help with administering this service. June 5, 2008 I've been working on a new release for a while. The main enhancement is a new service that can host hme applications. The main work left is to build a configuration tool and an installer. If your interested, you can download the source and check it out. [Less]

TiVo Butler can be configured to watch multiple TiVos on the network and organize the shows into a readable and searchable list on your computer. Downloads can be scheduled and rules/smart groups can be configured to download programs as they appear. A call for helpIf anyone has drawing skills ... [More] and would like to contribute to this project, please contact me. I would like to improve the quality of the tool bar icons used in the app. [Less]
