Goals:This project is posted here for the benefit of the community to support interoperability for emergency messages. The product is a EAS-CAP validator that is current with the latest version of the available profile. It is based on the product published by the EAS-CAP Industry Group at ... [More] http://www.eas-cap.org/profile.htm. To keep this useful for the EAS-CAP community, any member of the public, including industry and government agencies, is welcome to use the code provided and contribute using the open source development and project management tools available on this site. What is EAS-CAP Validator?EAS-CAP Validator takes a CAP XML message and ensures it : meets CAP 1.1 conformance rules. has the minimum set of CAP required elements. meets EAS-CAP version 0.1 conformance rules which EAS-CAP Industry Group had defined on 9-25-2008. has the minimum set of EAS-CAP-Version-0.1 required elements. contains a valid value if the EAS-CAP required elements are present. Definition:The Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) is a simple but general format for exchanging all-hazard emergency alerts and public warnings over all networks. EAS-CAP is a CAP 1.1 XML message that is going to be used specifically for transmission over the Emergency Alert System (EAS). All EAS-CAP are CAP 1.1. However, the reverse is not true because some CAP messages are not intended for EAS translation; therefore, they do not adhere to the strict format of EAS-CAP. [Less]
