Varnish

Varnish is a state-of-the-art, high-performance HTTP accelerator. Varnish is targeted primarily at the FreeBSD 6 and Linux 2.6 platforms, and will take full advantage of the virtual memory system and advanced I/O features offered by these operating systems.

The software consists two classes both of which can be used to access the Varnish Management Port from Python. The most basic interface is the class VarnishProtocol in the module varnishmport which is basically a low level interface where text commands can be send and the raw text response is ... The other interface is the class VarnishCLI in the module varnishCLI which operates at a higher level implementing methods corresponding to the CLI commands and returns a parsed representation of the response. VarnishCLI should be the preferred interface since it's possible to send raw commands through this interface.
