varnish-top is inspired by memcache-top, which was in turn inspired by top. Simply, it is a tool that lets you monitor a few key stats from one or more varnish boxes in real-time, from the command line, in a top-like screen. It's not the most sophisticated tool, but is handy for seeing a ... [More] real-time view into how your box(es) are doing without needing to set up graphing, open up a browser, etc. Similar to varnishstat, but runs across multiple boxes. Sample output:varnish-top v0.1 (default port: 6082, color: on, refresh: 3 seconds) INSTANCE USAGE HIT % TIME OBJs EXPIR/s NUKED/s REQ/s 10.50.200.112:6082 48.2% 40.0% 1.8ms 9471 0.0 0.0 2 10.50.200.79:6082 88.6% 62.5% 1.5ms 9075 0.0 0.0 3 10.50.200.87 [Less]

The software consists two classes both of which can be used to access the Varnish Management Port from Python. The most basic interface is the class VarnishProtocol in the module varnishmport which is basically a low level interface where text commands can be send and the raw text response is ... [More] returned. The other interface is the class VarnishCLI in the module varnishCLI which operates at a higher level implementing methods corresponding to the CLI commands and returns a parsed representation of the response. VarnishCLI should be the preferred interface since it's possible to send raw commands through this interface. You will need Python version 2.5 or higher since it used hashlib's SHA256 to implement authentication against Varnish started with the -S option. [Less]

Varnish HTTP Accelerator Integration This module provides integration between your Drupal site and the Varnish HTTP Accelerator, an advanced and very fast reverse-proxy system. Basically, Varnish handles serving static files and anonymous page-views for your site much faster and at higher volumes ... [More] than Apache, in the neighborhood of 3000 requests per second. This module provides admin-socket integration which allows Drupal to dynamically invalidate cache entries, and also lets you query the Varnish admin interface for status, etc. COMPATIBILITY NOTE: At the moment, using Varnish to any effect at all requires Drupal 7 or PressFlow.
