IntroductionWhat is “I Make Robots” about? First off “I Make Robots!” represents my belief about computers and their utility. When I design a system, write a program or provide some type of extended support to an n organization my goal is to always maintain the perspective that I am in the ... [More] business of building automatons. It is my job to design them, build them and manage them as best I can. I use various tools from computer science, business process management, computer programming, economics, systems analysis and whatever else may apply, to do my job. Sometime my job is to replace humans and other times my job is to augment their abilities to maximum affect. Whatever it is though, my job is to build an automaton (read: robot) to accomplish my goal. Now many folks are used to thinking of a robot as an almost human like machine with capabilities coming close to or eclipsing a human’s. Well, that may be true if we ever get there, but on a more practical and pragmatic level, a robot is an automaton that can perform any task, small and large, that a human being can do. Once there were phone operators, now there are phone switches. Once welders assembled cars, now robots weld cars together. Most of these are just programs written by humans to replace or augment their current abilities. I make robots and this is where they can be found. Softwarefiletrigger - shell script that automagically monitors the availability and growth of a file. wasstats - This is an example Jython script that parses a PervServletApp XML document. Mainly for educational purposes. wsadminutils - A Python/Jython class the encapsulates and exposes the WebSphere wsadmin objects in a much more coherent and sane manner. infernomysql - Here is some Inferno Limbo code that was the start of a native mysql module dos2inferno - This is a clone of dos2unix but for Inferno. Java GUID - A platform independent way to create GUID's (Globally Unique Identifiers) in Java netcrawler - A Web Crawler written in Python wasstatjava - A decent, almost complete, example of how to use JMX to connect to WebSphere and read/monitor PMI stats surestop - A shell script that will kill a WebSphere JVM (Java Virtual Machine). Guaranteed! [Less]

Supporting a medium to large group of Java Application servers and communicating with developers and testers can be a tedious, time consuming, and if done manually error prone process. This project is going to create a Jython based app that will initially communicate with IBM's WebSphere ... [More] Application server but then branching out to Tomcat, Weblogic and others. The goal is to create a dynamic set of pages that will map the apps out from the load balancer, to the Web Server, and finally to the list of App Servers the app is on. Additionally, making direct links, showing app version files in the table and other ideas that come up as we start to build it out. [Less]
