NSClient++ (NSCP) aims to be a simple yet powerful and secure monitoring daemon for Windows operating systems. It is built for Nagios, but nothing in the daemon is actually Nagios specific and could probably, with little or no change, be integrated into any monitoring software that supports running user tools for polling.

WinBase is intended to be used to establish a baseline or obtain a current snapshot of a Windows system. In an operational environment it is often difficult to to have accurate configuration management data on a system that can be used for comparison after an intrusion. Additionally, after an ... [More] intrusion the current baseline of a system must be obtained in order to assist in the act of determining what has changed. WinBase is a tool that will assist in obtaining this information. WinBase is a VBScript that utilizes Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) queries to interface and obtain data directly from from select Windows OS WMI classes. The output from these queries is completely customizable and can be used to automatically produce custom reports. Due to the granularity of the Methods under a particular class only relevant data is queried thus eliminating irrelevant data to sort through. WinBase can be executed either locally or remotely under any authentication credentials required to obtain the information sought. Because WMI and its classes are part of Microsoft Windows "trusted platform computer system" the level of reliability is high and the risk of comprise and/or the yielding of fraudulent data is greatly mitigated. WinBase is a project I started several years ago. Due to my insane schedule I have only worked on the script off and on as I had a chance. If anyone has scripting experience or just wants to learn and help out, please email me. [Less]
