Exiv2

Exiv2 is a C++ library and a command line utility to manage image metadata. It provides fast and easy read and write access to the Exif, IPTC and XMP metadata of images in many formats.

ThingFish

A network-accessable, searchable, extensible datastore. It can be used to store chunks of data on the network in an application-independent way, associate the chunks with other chunks through metadata, and then search for the chunk you need later and fetch it again, all through a REST API over HTTP.

exempi

Exempi is a library to handle with XMP metadata, including parsing, reading and write out of know data files. Exempi 2.0 is based on the official Adobe code ported to Linux.

Vista Metadata Project

Multimedia property handlers for Windows Vista. Allows users to tag AVIs, PNGs, WAVs, etc. with XMP metadata from the Vista shell. Properties will be indexed and available using Vista search.

News2007-11-14: Development updateWe are working on a whole new codebase for PhotoFlip 0.3, our next experimental version. We chose to get rid of Gtk/Glib as a whole, loosing some really useful API functions but gaining in size, portability, and in the long run this will certainly prove to be a better option. So what is going on right now? The new code uses SDL as its base input/output library. I'm working on a (great) OpenGL-cairo GUI interface which meets our specific needs for a fullscreen application with multiple tool-windows in it, a dock, etc. 2007-10-24: First version releasedWe just released the first PhotoFlip development version.
